The Next Step: Launching a Website

Sent earlier this month (January 2009) to the same group of folks from the first e-mail:

Hello everyone,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I enjoyed this winter, as it was an opportunity to spend time with friends and loved ones and escape the cold Michigan weather for a short while. Some of you may remember an e-mail I sent back in September about organizing a board of directors (I've included it below) to advise a non profit start up that I've been working on. Thank you to all of you who responded. I wanted to provide you with an update on some of the next steps I've been working on and ask for your continued support and feedback. As a first next step I've begun working on starting an effort to garner independent consulting projects to begin capacity building for the growth and development of this organization. Some of you may have seen the plan I developed for this organization currently called the Community Resource Center. The goal is to begin by working on independent projects among our executive team, then expand to a local community driven infrastructure and eventually expand to countywide, state and national involvement. This could look something like evolving into the Community Resource Center of the Bay Area, then to the California Community Resource Center and on to the National Community Resource Center.

You all know that this will be a lengthy process, that will take many years. I don't suspect that the full evolution will happen within two years. My goal is that after two years our team will be prepared to launch this organization within one target community and function as a non profit service provider within that specific context. First we must begin using our expertise to demonstrate our ability to achieve results by working on particular issues and marketing our ability to garner funds for these specific projects that will lead to the development of larger projects. To do this, I've first developed a website to market my services and expertise:

http://www.spicersconsulting.com

I'd appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to look at this site, provide me with some feedback and if you would like, send this to your colleagues. I would greatly appreciate your support, I look forward to hearing from you and continuing to work with you on this process that I am very passionate about and am open to seeing where it goes in the next few years.

Happy New Year,
